Our History
Founding owners Charles “Buddy” Dudley and David Honeycutt opened Charles David Salon in 1995 in the upscale community of Norwell, Massachusetts. Charles was an “up-and-coming” colorist and David a hotelier, and they brought their strengths together — beautiful hair coloring and hospitality — and the rest is history.
Soon after opening the small salon, Charles’ work was featured in Vogue, which kicked off their success, and the salon was named one of Salon Today magazine’s “100 Fastest Growing Salons in America” for eight consecutive years. The salon went through three expansions before moving to their much larger flagship salon in Hanover, Massachusetts, in 2008, where they remain today. Charles traveled across America on weekends teaching hair coloring in all but a few states while David continued to grow and cultivate the company and their amazing team.
In 2004, the growing salon company won the coveted REDKEN “Salon of the Year” in Las Vegas with over 5,000 salon professionals in attendance. The award is presented every two years at the REDKEN Symposium. Never in history had a salon won the award more than once—but Charles David Salon won it three consecutive times in 2004, 2006, and 2008. In 2010, Charles David Salon was the first inductee into the REDKEN “Hall of Fame,” an award given to many afterward, but the excitement of being the first was a moment the team will never forget.
Over the next 18 years, the salon company grew into three locations: one in Plymouth, MA, and one on the Village Green in The Pine Hills of Massachusetts. Celebrating their 30-Year Anniversary in 2025 — while winning Best of the South Shore’s BOSS Women’s Salon and BOSS Hair Colorist — says it all: still an area leader after three decades. Charles David Salons has proven that dedication, education, and hospitality are a winning and lasting combination.
Our Future
KELLY BEERY | General Manager
Kelly started at Charles David in 1995 as a Colorist/Stylist and later as an Educational Director for many years. One of the CD’s most successful team members she stepped back from the chair to accept the position as the General Manager of our Hanover flagship salon and spa. Still behind the chair serving her Guests one day a week, Kelly has taken on her management role with the instinct of a natural leader. Compassionate and fair with a “no nonsense” approach to delivering the best Guest experience and satisfaction.
JULIE CADOSE | Manager
- Julie joined Charles David Salons in 2012. She manages both our Plymouth Salon and our Salon in the Pine Hills. Overseeing
- the operations of two salons is not an easy task. It requires a lot of talent, patience and multitasking ability to which she just gets
- better and better at. Nobody cares more than Julie about the Guest experience and the quality of service her salons provide.
ANDREA LOOMIS | Assistant General Manager/ Education Manager
- Andrea began her hairdressing career at Charles David in 2001. Recognized as the fastest growing Colorist/Stylist in Charles
- David’s history, she became a CD Educational Director as well as a REDKEN Certified Color Specialist teaching at various
- salons across the country. In her role as Assistant General Manager she will assist with salon operations and oversee all
- things educational with emphasis on cutting and design trends and training.
DYLAN EBERHARDT | Controller/Human Resources Agent
- Manages accounting, budgeting, auditing and internal financial reporting. As our HR Agent Dylan is the link between our team and management, helping to administer policies, employee procedures, insuring
- our Core Values are followed the workplace runs smoothly and lawfully.
